Pupusas salvadoreñas Don Beto

Pupusas salvadoreñas are tortillas filled with beans, cheese, chicharron and sometimes accompanied with loroco, these tortillas are made of corn or rice dough. We show you how to prepare them in an easy way, accompanied with curtido and sauce. Portions: 5 units.

For the pupusas: One package of Don Beto pupusas of your preference (Pupusas Queso con locoro, pupusas de queso, pupusas queso con frijol, pupusas revueltas or pupusas chicharrón con queso) and thaw in a microwave for 3 minutes.

For the sauce:

· 5 units of ripe tomatoes

· ½ unit of green chili

· ½ unit of onion

· 1 tablespoon of olive oil

· 250 milliliters of water

· 3 cloves of garlic

· 1 pinch of salt

· 1 pinch of oregano

· 1 pinch of pepper

For the curtido:

· 1 cup chopped white cabbage

· 2 pieces of grated carrots

· 1 red onion, julienned

· ½ cup white vinegar

· 1 pinch of dried oregano

Curtido: mix the finely chopped white cabbage, grated carrot, julienned purple onion, add a pinch of oregano and salt to taste, pour the 1/2 cup of white vinegar and let stand for 20 minutes.

Sauce: blend the ingredients until you get a puree consistency, put it to cook letting it boil for at least 30 minutes until the tomato is well cooked, when the sauce starts to boil taste and correct the seasoning if necessary (you can add powdered chicken broth or vinegar).
